Why flying planes ?
The fascination of taking off and moving through the air with fantastic aircraft and looking at our beautiful world from above.

How did you start ?
I started with model flying when I was a young boy. This hobby introduced me to the fascination of flying. This passion continues and I love to move freely in three dimensions  to manage the technology perfectly (never ending story). Aerobatics enable me to combine all of these things.

For how long have you been flying and what is your experience in terms of Championships ?
In 1986 I got the PPL . 1990 after the WAC in Yverdon, I had first contact to the SAA ( in memory Pierre-Alain Schneider). My first Competition SNAC was in 1991 in Autun (F). Since then I was competing just every championship until today. In 2000, 2006 and 2009 I did AWAC, EAC and WAC. In 2006 EAC in Grenchen I got bronze medal in team with Pierre and Bruno. Today I have around 1100h total of flying , arobatics 850h on different planes (Cap10,Pitts,Bücker,Extra230/300, OneDesign, Sbach, Votec, Su26/29/31).

Why the Sukhoi?
For me the Sukhoi is the most exciting and fascinating aerobatic aircraft in terms of appearance and performance. Despite its age, this great aircraft is still competitive and the technology is timeless.

If there would be only one, which would it be ? 
I am glad that there is not only one aerobatic plane, that would be boring … but the SU26 should definitely be there

What is your favorite figure ?  
I love almost every figure, especially if it seems very easy to try to fly it as perfect as possible. The figure that should never be missing is the hammerhead…..but we should be careful with the negative G’s !

Any quotes or short stories linked to your pilot’s life you would like to share with us ?
Important in the life of a pilot is always to have enough respect for the thing and not to risk too much. I have experienced some tricky situations in my flying life which I analyzed critically in order to learn from them.

Do you have other hobbies when you are grounded ? 
Physical training, little hiking with my wife, model flying, tennis,  with my two sons.

What is your wish in terms of SAA or aerobatics in Switzerland ?
To motivate young people for our sport and to give them a platform to practice this passion.
