Why flying planes ?

I often wonder why… I should have become a musician or a painter

For how long are you flying and what is your experience in terms of Championships ?

I fly since 1975 and got interest in aerobatics since 1982. Since 1989, I participate to national and international championship in Unlimited category.

How did you start ?

When I was 7 yrs old and say a Venom flying over me.

Why the Sukhoi?

In 1990, this plane was revolutionary and nowadays she is still the most amazing one !

If there would be only one, which would it be ? 

It does not exist, we should have now cheaper aerobatic mounts!

What is your favorite figure ?

I love hanging the plane at the propeller, stopping completely and starting further horizontal at 180 degrees of the initial direction without any altitude loss. This figure uses  the prop wash and engine torque. I do not explain more here, it is a secret, I do not know if it can work with an Extra!

Any quotes or short stories linked to your pilot’s life you would like to share with us ? 

My first competition in North Italy, in the Pitts S1S, I got lost in  haze, I had to find my way trying to identify a town, and then flying to the airport following the roads , like a car!

Do you have other hobbies when you are grounded ?

I play accordeon and I fly RC models…

What is your wish in terms of SAA or aerobatics in Switzerland ?

I think as long we have a nice competition in Switzerland, our sport can survive and attract young pilots! I just hope to continue to be there , meeting all my nice aviation friends, in good health and with an airplane in top condition, it is a challenge every season!
