Why flying planes?

Flying was my big dream since I was a little boy. My father had a PPL, so I spent many Saturdays at Belpmoos.

How did you start?

Fluggruppe Reichenbach organized an info evening on learning to fly. I saw the newspaper ad and the virus was back – I signed up for the ground course the same evening…

For how long do you fly and what is your experience in terms of championships?

I started 2006 relatively late at the age 37, then added ATPL theory, IR, CPL within the next 2 years. In 2014 I started aerobatics with Bruno Müller in Triengen. In 2015 I participated for the first time in the Hamilton Trophy and the SNAC. I liked competition aerobatics and continued. Last year I lived my dream and participated in the WAC. By now I‘m at 1800+ flying hours.

Why the Extra?

I learned aerobatics on the Extra 200 in Triengen and liked the plane as well as the „Triengen-family-atmosphere“, so I stayed. Today I‘ve the chance to fly the 330SC, which is a marvelous, well balanced aircraft. And I still fly it from Triengen.

If there could be only one plane, what would it be?

My 330SC.

What is your favourite figure?

I like all sorts of P-Loops.

Any quotes or short story linked to your pilot’s life you would like to share with us?

Probably too many stories to chose from by now 😉

Do you have other hobbies when you are grounded?

Some sports and a lot of working.

What is your wish in terms of SAA or aerobatics in Switzerland?

More opportunities to work with a trainer. Other than that I think we‘re on a good path.

Who will be the next Mom ?

Yann Berger
